Cercia organise, host and participate in many events throughout the year.

Specialist Courses

In addition to the events and workshops, Cercia also offers short courses on the following topics. We can also design introductory, advanced or specialised courses in optimisation, machine learning and data mining, and design.

Taught Degree Programmes

Our specialist staff work closely with the School of Computer Science, University of Birmingham, helping teaching MSc programmes in Computational Intelligence and Natural Computation.

These programmes are full-time taught degree programmes leading to a Masters degree awarded by the University of Birmingham.

Seminars by Professor Zbigniew Michalewicz
Professor Zbigniew Michalewicz from The University of Adelaide will be visiting Cercia on 18th-19th June. He will be giving two seminars (details below). You are welcome to attend - both seminars are free. Refreshments will be available. Professor Michalewicz has over 30 years of academic and industry experience. Currently he serves as Chairman of the Board for SolveIT Software Pty Ltd, a company specialising in custom software solutions for demand forecasting and scheduling and supply chain optimisation.
CERCIA Workshop on New Applications of Computing in the Creative Industries
CERCIA, on behalf of the ICT Innovation Club at the University of Birmingham, is hosting a workshop on 'New Applications of Computing in the Creative Industries' on Friday March 14 2008. The 'Intelligent ICT Solutions' innovation club at the University of Birmingham has been established in association with the Advantage West Midlands (AWM) ICT Cluster to provide a forum for end users, businesses and academic experts to discuss challenges and exchange ideas with a view to developing innovative solutions enabling economic gain. This event is free to all.
New Forensic Applications
Cercia, on behalf of the ICT Innovation club at the University of Birmingham, is hosting a workshop on 'New Forensic Applications' on Wednesday 6 February 2008, in association with VIN Technology Services. The 'Intelligent ICT solutions' innovation club at the University of Birmingham is established in association with AWM ICT cluster to provide a forum for end users, businesses and academic experts to discuss challenges and exchange ideas with a view to develop innovative solutions enabling economic gain. This event is free to all.
